About the Author – Leopold Von Hartmann
Leopold Von Hartmann is the author of two books that share one method: take a subject everyone has opinions about, strip out the posture, and write down the mechanism that is actually deciding the outcome.
The books
The Dark Laws of Money — 24 laws about how money actually moves, and why working harder alone never gets you there. Available at thedarklawsofmoney.com as ebook, audiobook and paperback.
The Dark Laws of Power — 24 laws on position, presence and influence, and why two people of equal talent end up in different rooms. Available on this site as ebook, audiobook and paperback.
How the books are written
Each chapter closes a single circuit and leaves one law behind. Claims are sourced: the obedience experiments of Stanley Milgram, L. David Mech's correction of the wolf "alpha" concept, Christakis and Fowler's studies of social networks, and the stress literature on social evaluative threat all appear in The Dark Laws of Power, with a note on sources at the back. Where the books state an opinion, the sentences are built to make that visible.
In the author's own words, from the opening of The Dark Laws of Power: "The laws in this book are called dark for one reason only. They operate whether or not you are looking at them."
